OUR ROOTS

I, Collin, have extensive family roots and appreciation for Door County. My mom was born on an apple orchard outside Fish Creek, and my grandparents owned and operated several businesses, including the orchard, building the Lull-Abi Motel in Egg Harbor, and Johnny’s Cottage Restaurant in Sister Bay. With roots like this, it only seems fitting that I have been called back to own and operate an inn and restaurant with my wife at my side, just as my grandparents did for so many years.

 

Together Sara and I have backpacked Europe and Asia, taught English in South Korea, and spent time “snowbumming” in Colorado; as such, we continue to have a strong urge to travel and have been in search for that perfect lifestyle. So, we decided to take the plunge, left our professions, and established Roots Inn & Kitchen in 2016! We look forward to sharing this wild ride together, and with so many wonderful guests!
